The rule I've developed for the flickering LED's is: Less is more. I"ll place a couple in a scene, usually outside as lanterns while keeping the in-structure illumination constant. My reasoning is that outdoor lanterns would be more susceptible to gusts of air, while indoor lamps would be kept trim and well adjusted.
